HISTORY
On September 10, 1990, an organizational meeting was held at the Jewish Community Center in Maitland, Florida, that led to the establishment of the Jewish Genealogical Society. Promoting the need for an organization, Gene Starn with 23 interested people, agreed it was time for the Orlando area to have a Jewish genealogical society. Through the efforts of those volunteers, the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Orlando was established. By October 9, 1990, bylaws were approved. Gene Starn was elected as the first President and the JGSGO was ready to function within the community. Our current bylaws can be viewed at JGSGO-Bylaws.htm or downloaded at JGSGO-Bylaws.pdf
