Robert Townsend SissonAncestor of Joan Marie Kieffer Hutter Robert Townsend Sisson was born ca 1790 in Providence (Fairfax) VA, the son of Robert Sisson, an American Revolutionary patriot, and Sally Sarah Washington. He served as a private in Capt. Coffers Company of Regulars in the War of 1812; he served 40 days. Robert married Arminta (Minty) Boswell ca 1820 in Fairfax, VA. Minty Boswell was born ca 1787 and died 7 April 1853; Robert died 19 February 1873, both in Fairfax VA. They are buried in the Fairfax City Cemetery, VA. Robert and Minty had nine children, John B. who married Dianna Dawson; John A. who married (first) Jane Elizabeth Williams and (second) Lucy B. Fowlkes; Sally; William Alfred; Matthew who married Mary Elizabeth Martin Smith; Martha Jane; Robert Lewis who married Martha A. Kerns; Harriet Eugenia and Anna Matilda. Robert Townsend Sisson's second wife, Nancy E. Newman, was granted a widow pension # 12685 in 1878.
