Even if you only know
the names of your grandparents or great-grandparents, feel
free to contact us.
Our chapter members are experts in researching American
ancestry. If you can provide us with birth dates and
birth locations for your parents and grandparents, we can
find the Revolutionary War patriots "hidden" in your family
tree. To get started, just email our
Chapter Registrar.
In addition to
one-on-one assistance, we conduct several
genealogy workshops each year for community members
interested in researching their family tree. Our
next workshop will be held on
October 17, 2009.

If you are
interested in researching your family history, the first
step is to prepare an ancestor chart of what is known about your
ancestors. If you have the free Adobe Reader program
on your computer, you can download a free ancestor chart
from
this site.
On the chart, list the names, birth dates,
marriage dates, and death dates of your ancestors along with
the location (town, county, and state) where each event
occurred. Focus on your parents, grandparents, and
great-grandparents. This
free online tutorial
will help you get started with your research.
The study of
genealogy is fun and rewarding. It is our link to our past,
and it enriches our present.
