 Julia
Atzeroth & her husband's tombstone. Fogartyville Cemetery,
Bradenton, Florida. |
New Name: Maybe you noticed that our society is now doing
business as the Manatee Genealogical Society. We changed the name
to better reflect our location and the principal area that we serve.
Manasota did not convey this information; we would get comments like
"where is Manasota?".
Society Purpose: The Society was formed to promote
individual and community awareness in genealogy, family history and allied
fields of study, conduct genealogical meetings, workshops and seminars, and
sponsor projects to promote and preserve genealogical knowledge. For example, "Tombstone Inscriptions in Cemeteries of Manatee County, FL 1850 - 1980". See Publications for this, and other MGS material available on this website.
Membership: Any person
with an interest in genealogy, family history or allied fields of study may
become a member of the Society upon acceptance and payment of dues.
Dues are currently $20 for an individual, and $25 for a family couple. Dues can be paid
at any regular membership meeting, or mailed to the Manatee Genealogical
Society, P.O. Box 1194, Bradenton, FL 34206.

Boulevard West, Bradenton, FL 34205.
Benefits of Membership:
Regular meetings & workshops, priority

participation in our research interest database, publish research and general interest articles on the MGS Website, personalized name tags at
meetings, learn from other members and their experiences, and share research
knowledge and methods (just to name a few).

genealogical research. Starts about 11:00AM.

Cracker Crumbs (the Newsletter of the
Manatee
Genealogical Society) is the Fall 2011 issue which has been
distributed to members; the last edition (Summer 2011) is now posted/archived to this
