Death of John McLaughlin

The body of John McLaughlin was brought to Kissimmee on Friday night from Ocala, where he died from a cancer that had been troubling him a long time. The funeral was held on Saturday and he was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Rev. W. H. Steinmeyer officiating.
John McLaughlin was one of the most substantial stockman on the range, owning two nice homes, one at Long Hammack and one near Fort Drum. He leaves a widow and ten children, and a wide circle of relatives, being connected with several strong families. He was 63 years old when he died and was a veteran of the Civil War on the southern side. An honest man, a true friend, an affectionate and devoted husband and father, a good citizen, is lost to Osceola county in his death.
