Last Will and Testament of Mary McLaughlin

In the Name of God Amen.
I, Mary McLaughlin, a widow, of Fort Drum, Florida, being of sound mind and memory, and desireing top know that my earthly belongings will be divided as I direct at my death, do hereby make, ordain public and declare this my last WILL AND TESTAMENT, revoking all other, that is to say:

1.  After all of my just debts are paid, including my funeral expense, I give and bequeath all of my property both real and personal to my children to be divided as follows:
To my sons, Dan, John and Lawrence McLaughlin or their ??? I give all of the East Half of the Southwest Quarter of section thirty-one in township thirty-two, South of Range thirty-five East, saving and excepting that part of said tract heretofore deeded to my son Edward McLaughlin during my life time.  The remains to be equally divided.
To my daughters Joanne Johnson, Hettie Messor, Nora? Young and Bettie Browning I give all of lots 12 and 13 of Browning sub-division of the town of Okeechobee, Florida.  The same to be divided equally.  During my life time I have given my daughter Bertie M. Swain that part of my real estate I desire her to have.
To my daughter, Lizzie O. Swain, I give one dining chair and $1.00.
To my daughter Joanne Johnson I give one bed quilt, 1 feather pillow, 1 small table, all of my wash tubs and 1 chair.
To my daughter, Hettie Messer I give one feather pillow, 1 wash pot, 1 stove, 1 cook table, 1 cotton mattress, 1 phonograph, 1 chair and an old ???.
To my daughter Nora Young I give 1 chair, 1 sewing machine, 1 bed quilt and one feather pillow.
To my daughter Hettie Messer 
To my daughter Bettie Browning I give 1 cotton mattress, 1 feather pillow, 1 bed spread, 1 small table, 1 chair.
To my daughter Bertie O. Swain I give one 1 feather bed, 1 feather pillow, 1 bed-stand, 1 set of iron pots, 1 rocking chair, 1 new canning outfit, 1 trunk, 1 dining table.
In addition to what I have here to be given my daughter Joanna Johnson I give here one wood mattress.
To my grand-son Billie McLaughlin, a son of my son Robert E. McLaughlin, deceased, I give 1 small table, 1 large aluminum pot and one bed quilt.
To my son Edward McLaughlin I give, in addition to the real estate deeded to him during my life time, 1 bed quilt and the sum of $1.00.
To my son Dan McLaughlin I give one steel pot, 1 set of desert dishes, 1 stone mixing bowl, 1 set of dinner plates, 1 cake plate, 1 large spider and 1 bed quilt.
To my son John McLaughlin I give one bed quilt, 1 dresser, 1 cotton mattress, 1 rocking chair, and 1 feather pillow.
To my grand-son Russell McLaughlin, son of my son Lewis McLaughlin, deceased, I give 1 bed quilt, 1 water set and all of my cups and saucers.
To my son Lawrence McLaughlin I give 1 bed quilt, 1 small aluminum pot, 1 frying pan and all of my knives and forks.
All of the balance of my personal property of every kind I give to my daughter Bertie M. Swain and hereby constitute and appoint her as sole Executrix of this my last will and testament and direct that she serve without giving bond or receiving compensation.  I also direct that the bed quilts enumerated be divided by each child drawing by lots.  I also request my daughter Bertie M. Swain to return any personal belongings that has been given me by any of my children to the one giving it to me, unless it is enumerated.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this 20th day of August A. D. 1937 at Okeechobee, Florida.

The above and foregoing instrument was subscribed by Mary McLaughlin, a widow, in our presence and acknowledged by her to each of us, and she at the same time declared that the above instrument, consisting of three pages, so subscribed to be her LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT.  And we, at her request, have signed our names hereto in her presence and in the presence of each other and written opposite our names our respective addresses.  We further certify that at her request one of our number aligned her name and that she made her mark in the presence of each of us at Okeechobee, Florida this 20th day of August A. D. 1937.

CODICIL to will of Mary McLaughlin
I, Mary McLaughlin, since making my will dated August 20, 1937 desire to make some changes therein since the death of my son Dan McLaughlin and because of the fact I have made the replacement? deeded in my last will to my sons.  I now desire that my daughter Bettie Browning and my son John and Lawrence McLaughlin receive equally of the following real estate in Okeechobee County, State of Florida:  The northwest quarter of the southeast quarter (SW of SE ?) of section twenty-seven TD/ 33 South of Range 55 East containing 40 acres more or less.  I give and bequeath above described lands to my sons and daughter as named above.
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this 16 day of May 1938.

The above and foregoing codicil was subscribed by Mary McLaughlin in our presence and acknowledged by her to each of us and she at the same time declared that the above instrument to be a codicial to her last will and testament and we at her request have signed our names as witnesses in her presence and in the presence of each other and written opposite our names our respective addresses.  We further certify that at her request one of our number signed her name and that she made her mark in the presence of each of us at Fort Drum, Florida this 16th day of May 1938.
