Seminar Success We enjoyed another informative and festive genealogy seminar on January 29th. A welcoming session kicked off the event with the announcement of Ann Cantlin as the recipient of the Unsung Hero award. Attendees enjoyed four lectures by national genealogy speaker, John Humphrey, as well as a choice of attending one of four classes taught by local members. A wonderful lunch and lots of door prizes rounded out the day Volunteer Appreciation The Largo library honored their volunteers on February 25th, with a catered luncheon at the Largo Cultural Center. Festivities included a square dancing demonstration by a local group. Damon Hostetler was awarded the Largo Genealogy Volunteer of the year award for all his contributions this year and in the past. Thanks to all the volunteers who help to make the PGS Society and the Largo genealogy department the best one around. |

| • When calling the Largo Library with questions relating to genealogy, please use the number for the Genealogy Help Desk: 586-7410. • Please do not re-shelve books or return other materials. Our volunteers count each item returned as a statistic. These counts help us to determine our peak times for service and areas of high demand. Thank you! • Please continue to bring in flyers or brochures about libraries you visit this year. Thanks! • When using the microfilm, please rewind the film before returning it to its box. Please do not remove the take-up reel; this will only leave the film in an upside-down and backwards state! |
