The Suncoast Genealogy Society is a non-profit organization, dedicated to the teaching of modern and ethical genealogy research techniques to the membership and general public, through the use of meetings, workshops, lectures, field trips and other educational activities.

 

The organization started out as the Palm Harbor Area Genealogy Society in

April 1983 and had their first formal meeting on May 16, 1983.  The original members were an offshoot of a genealogy class taught at the old Palm Harbor Library by Shirley Kaufhold.

The Society meets the on the 4th Monday of the month, at 7:30pm, at the Palm Harbor Library, 2330 Nebraska Ave., Palm Harbor.  There are no meetings in May or Dec.  Guests are always welcome.  (contact Ann for more information jamesamsj@aol.com)

 

SGS members offer genealogy assistance in the Reference Department of the Palm Harbor Library 1pm - 4pm Mon.- Thurs.
