Roots & Branches Genealogical Society, Serving DeLand, Deltona, Orange City, Debary, Enterprise, Osteen, Pierson and Seville was formed in 1986, with the goal to assist and exchange information concerning genealogy.
We publish an informative quarterly newsletter and invite guest speakers to share their knowledge on specific topics of interest. Society members staff the Genealogy and Local History room at the local DeLand public library on the second floor. Other projects are digitizing the Dauphne Brownell Collection for preservation and sharing with the Historical Society, maintaining an indexed collection of obituaries from the Deland Beacon and News-Journal and adding to the collection of pertinent information on West Volusia cities and pioneer families of the area.
