Seminole Chapter was the first DAR Chapter organized in Palm Beach County on December 5, 1922.   Mrs. Vincent Oaksmith was the Organizing Regent and there were 14 charter members.  We have grown to a membership of over 200 members and there are now 9 DAR Chapters in Palm Beach County.  Our name was derived from the Seminole Indians who once inhabited this part of the state and still occupy some of the same area today.  Seminole Chapter actively fulfills the objectives of the DAR by perpetuating the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American independence through historical preservation, promotion of education, and patriotic endeavors.
