TOPIC: "Computer Tools for Jewish Genealogy" and "Report of the 29th
Annual IAJGS Conference"
Using a Power Point presentation, Jerry Naditch will focus on commonly
available tools (Websites) that do not require a paid subscription. He will
demonstrate how the search site
www.google.com, can lead to less obvious sources, such as Facebook,
Linkedin, and Geni.com. He will also discuss JewishGen.org ,
ellisisland.org, and Heritage Quest, which is available online to anyone
with a Palm Beach County library card.
Also on the program is an overview of the 29th Annual Conference of the
International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS) held this
past August in Philadelphia. Local JGSPBCI members who attended the
conference will report on "What's New in Genealogy"-- the latest
developments in genealogical news and research.

ADDITIONAL INFO: Lynn Turner graduated with a BA in Family History and
Genealogy from Brigham Young University with an emphasis in Spain and Latin
American family history. Lynn currently works as the supervisor of the
Collection Management International team of the Family and Church History
department where he defines FamilySearch Indexing projects, and prioritizes
the acquisition of new record collections for most international countries.
He also teaches the Computers and Technology in Family History course at
Brigham Young University. He is an accredited genealogist in Spain research.
Besides presenting in the United States, Lynn has also presented at
genealogy conferences in Spain, Colombia, and Peru.
