Roots and Branches Genealogical Society of West Volusia County,  meets at the Deland Public Library, 130 East Howry Avenue, at 2 PM on the third Sunday every month  from  Sept through June.

 

 The  Volusia - Flagler Council of Genealogical  Societies  Newsletter 
is a  free  monthly on-line  publication  that serves  the  Five Genealogy Societies in  the Volusia and Flagler County area in East Central Florida.  Included each month are  announcements  of  Society meetings, speakers, research links, Library info, DAR /SAR news, and  news  of  interest.

Normally Meets  Daytona Beach City Island Library Auditorium  on  Third Thursday each month at 6pm  except July and August.  Come visit the Genealogy room,  featuring two in room online genealogy computers.

Roots and Branches Genealogical Society of West Volusia County “normally “ meets in the Auditorium of the DeLand Public Library, 130 East Howry Avenue, at 2:00pm on the third Sunday from September through June.  No meetings in July or Aug.

Genealogical Society of Southeast Volusia County will meet from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 13, 2009, at the New Smyrna Beach Regional Library, 1001 South Dixie Freeway, New Smyrna Beach. The meeting is open to the public.Ken “The Computer Guy” of Computer A Services, LLD, will speak on various computer operating systems. Bring him your questions. Kathy Hennigan will present a power point program, “Back to the Basics.” A how-to fill-in-your-family genealogy and add the source information.  Handout “History of the United States” Volumes 1-3, E-books or MP3 will be available for everyone. Volunteers are available in the library from 1:00 - 3:00 on Monday and Wednesday to help you get started and assist in your research. Please call (386) 428-2507 for additional information.

Genealogy Society of Flagler County in Palm Coast will hold its regular meeting at the Flagler County Public Library, 2500 Palm Coast Parkway, N.W., on Thursday, July 23, at 5:30 p.m.  Leo Damm and Peter Burkhardt will be our guest speakers.  Their topic will be on immigration to America and the machinations of paperwork.  Anyone interested in attending our meeting is welcome.  For more information call John at 386-447-5805.
