9:00 - 5:00

The Metro Atlanta Chapter of the Afro American Historical and Genealogical Society Inc.  is partnering with the National Archives at Atlanta for a program on Gulah Geechee Culture.

The morning program features presentations by Dr. Mary B. Zeigler, Dr. D L Henderson, and the Geechee Gullah Shouters. The afternoon program will feature the Clayton County African American Arts and Heritage Festival.

This event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required.  To reserve your seat, RSVP to gullahprogramatl@gmail.com.

The Geechee Gullah Shouters perform the ring shout, a traditional spiritual and community ritual of West African orgin.  The practice was kept alive by African Americans in the coastal regions of South Carolina and Georgia.
