Description of the Area:
Pleasant Grove Cemetery is one mile south on Pleasant Grove Road . It is marked by woods. Pleasant Grove Rd. is very narrow. Only one car can travel it in one direction. There is no room to pass. The cemetery is located behind Pleasant Grove Baptist Church which is also located in the woods. The cemetery and church area are maintained but surrounded by woods. It is not an area that is visited for long periods of time due to its location and the woods. Do not under any circumstances go to this area without being accompanied by atleast two other people. There is no way to get help unless you have a cellphone. The road leading to it is a dirt road with approximately one foot on each side of the car traveling it. There are two large trees in the cemetery and a few holes to watch out for. The tree that is in the east corner of the cemetery had a stack of discarded limbs and leaves under it. The tree closest to the road is clean and has a row of McDuffie family members under it. At all times you should watch the area you are walking in and researching. |
