Interesting Note from a real estate ad: 1853 Central Railroad and Banking House, 7-9 East Bay Street, Savannah, Georgia. "......the structure dates back to 1853, when it was originally built to house the Central Railroad & Banking Company. The building later served as General Sherman's military headquarters during the Civil War and the fabulous true north skylight running the breadth of the upstairs became useful for the purposes of grading cotton before the turn of the century.......... The building is currently the home of the world class "Times on Bay" Restaurant, which is included in the price listed below....."
