The Georgia Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists was established in 2004 and formally charted by APG in March 2005. The Georgia chapter promotes professionalism in genealogical research through meetings, discussions of topics of interest, and agreeing to the APG Code of Ethics. Membership in APG is required to be a local member.

Georgia Archives Update

Temporary funding will allow the Georgia Archives will remain open on Friday and Saturday through the current fiscal year, which ends 30 June 2013. Governor Deal would like to move the archives from the Secretary of State office to the Board of Regents, which oversees the university system in Georgia.
