Miss Georgie Johnson, daughter of Dan Johnson, and David Monroe Carter were married at the home of the pastor of the Baptist church in Hazlehurst on Sunday, May 29th. The marriage was not made known until several days later when Mr. Carter carried his bride to the home of his father Mr. Ben Carter in the Hamilton community.
Both Mr. Carter and his bride have a wide family connection in this county, and hundreds of friends were interested in the announcement of their marriage.
