Centering the interest of an unusually large circle of friends throughout
this section was the marriage solemnized on Wednesday afternoon of Miss
Lily Johnson Morris and Dr. Warren Swain, at the Methodist parsonage, in
Hazlehurst, Rev. Hutchinson pastor, officiating. The marriage took place
in the presence of a few close friends. The young couple left the city on
Wednesday evening accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sweat, a bride and
groom, motored to Hazlehurst, were married and left immediately for a
wedding journey which will extend over about ten days.
Miss Morris is the adopted daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Morris, her
uncle and aunt; the daughter or Mr. Joseph H. Johnson, of Bartow, Fla. She
is a member of the McRae family which is distinguished through Georgia and
other states. She is a gifted reader of inimitable charm, and is one of
the most popular young women of the city.
Dr. Swain is a prominent young business man. He is connected with the
Goodman Drug Company. He came to Baxley several months ago, and he is as
popular as his charming bride. He came from Hazlehurst an his family is
one of the most prominent in Jeff Davis County.
