ALMA -- Leon Holton, 89, died Sept. 3 at Bacon County Hospital.
The Coffee County native was a Mason in the Douglas Lodge, of the Church of
God faith, and a retired farmer.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Abbie Leona Taylor Holton of Alma; four sons, Oswald
"Buddy" Holton, John Berry "J.B." Holton, and Leon Lawton Holton Jr., all of
Midway, and Quincy Holton of Cumming; six daughters, Lillie Mae Taylor of
Jacksonville, Fla., Lavada Sweat and Abby Martinez, both of Waycross, Betty
Jean Nettle and Elois Marie Hutchinson, both of Nichols, and Virginia Sue
Cooper of West Green; three sisters, Stella Smith of Panama City, Fla.,
Pearl Holton of Haines City, Fla., and Minnie Smith of Winter Haven, Fla.;
45 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. today at Wesley Chapel (Wolfpit) Congregational Methodist
Church, burial in church cemetery with Masonic rites.
Crosby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
