Remarks: No. 5 Died from the effects of stab in the left breast near the heart made by parties unknown. A negro was tried for the murder but the jury returned a Verdict of Not Guilty. This District is remarkable for it's Springs of pure cold water. I may also add for the number and size of it's Rattle Snakes. Non call for information in regard to Disease among stock. "Hog Cholera" has prevailed to a great extent in this and Salem District.

Remarks: No. 9 died from the effects of blow on the skull with a common Plantation Hoe, in a fight. No. 14 died from the effects a stab given by another slave in a fight. No. 10. Died from the effects of the fall of a tree crushing his skull and killing him instantly. Pneumonia has prevailed  to a limited extent. The Geology of the district very similar to that of Gumm's District. It is of the Primary formation, granite substratum, very much broken, fine springs and very healthy.
