There's not a single commercial cemetery in Brantley County, and most are on private grounds. If the cemetery is not located adjacent to a church, it is probably on private land. Permission and Courtesies are always appropriate when approaching a cemetery on private grounds. You should also be respectful to the church cemeteries. After crossing the Big Buffalo Creek bridge, turn right (east) on Buffalo Creek Drive (CR226). The road goes straight eastward about 1.8 mile and then curves slowly to the left (Tom Howards home place is at the curve of the road. After completing the left curve, take a right on the first dirt road, Foxhound Trail (CR83) (not to be confused with the White Ford (dirt road), and proceed about 0.5 mile. Cemetery is on your left after passing the little Buffalo Creek bridge.

After crossing the railroad, turn left at the next intersection, staying on Central Ave. Proceed another 1.4 miles. Cemetery is on the right.

From the "Convenience Store" at Hickox, cross U.S. 301 and go out the Riverside Road (CR79) southeast 1.8 miles. After crossing the bridge at Little Buffalo Creek, turn left on White Ford Road (CR89N) and go mile. You will pass the Johns farm on your left, proceeding past the Charlie Batten (deceased) farm house on your left. The McClellan Cemetery is behind Charlie Battens fields (on your left). After passing Charlie Battens home and his fields, turn left into a "small lane road, between two fields for 0.1 miles. Turn left at the end of the field on your left and go about 0.1 mile to the cemetery. The "lane" is directly in front (west) of the "old Zara Batten home place" weather beaten pioneer home which is located on your right). The Old Batten home is inhabited by J. R. Wynn, son of Nancy Batten and Bob Wynn). The Cemetery is in the "woods," past the fields at the end of the "lane," and is near the home of two "Wynn Sisters." There are no signs. Note: The Cemetery is on private land. Visitors should obtain permission from the family living in the old Zara Batten home place (Mr. J.R. Wynn or the Wynn Sisters.)

MUMFORD NO MAP NR. Located at Waynesville: From the intersection of Hwy82 and the Browntown Road, go east 0.5 miles. Turn left and take Mumford Road (CR455) to the Mumford Plantation (0.2 miles). Cemetery is on the right about 200 feet, south of the Mumford house.

Proceed west from U.S. 301 at the Convenience Store in Hickox on the Caney Bay Road (CR225). Turn north (left) onto Smyrna Church Road and proceed about 0.9miles. Turn right on Gilman Road (CR101, and follow it about miles. As the Gilman Road veers to the left, go straight onto Land Fill Road (CR378). The cemetery is on the left, before reaching the Land Fill.. The "Refuse Dump" is north of Smyrna Cemetery.
