James Duncan Crawford was born December 18, 1845, and it is unknown when he died or is buried.  James parents were Rev. Reuben and Anna "Annie" ( Clark ) Crawford.  James married Martha Jane Herrin, October 12, 1865 in Wayne County, daughter of Daniel and Jemima (Ammons) Herrin.  She was born November 27, 1847 in Wayne County and she died September 13, 1930 in Brantley County . Death date of James Duncan is unknown, both are buried in Smyrna Cemetery in Brantley County , Georgia .

James Duncan Crawford, served in Company D., 4th Georgia Cavalry.   

James and Martha had the following children:

 1. Flora E., born September 26, 1866, Wayne County, Georgia, died November 13, 1925, married Allen Johns.  Flora is buried in Smyrna Cemetery .

 2. Missouri, born February 28, 1868; died 1919; married Willis P. Pennington; born November 21, 1872; Hamilton County, Florida; died November 26, 1922.  They are buried in Smyrna Cemetery near Lulaton.

 3. Anise M. "Annie" born April 26, 1870, died March 30, 1954; She married John Adam Willis September 01, 1888, son of James Willis and Gatsey Lewis.  He was born August 22, 1857 and died June 08, 1935.  They are buried in Smyrna Cemetery .

 4. James, born 1872                          

 5. Oscar, born 1874           

 6. Arminta, born May 27, 1879, died October 21, 1994; Buried in Smyrna Cemetery .
