JOHN ADAMS JOHNS                   1839 – Unknown                     Charlton County

John Adams Johns was born 7 October 1839 in Charlton County and was the ninth child of Jeremiah and Mary Ann McClellan Johns.   Records show that he was a private in Company D, 26th Georgia Infantry and enlisted on 29 July 1861 at Satilla , GA for a period of 12 months and was signed in by Capt. J. C. Nicholls.  His records show that his last report for muster roll was for January & February 1862.  There is no further record and it is assumed that he died in service.    Family records show that he was never married.
