WORLD WAR I : Porcher "Shay" Mitchum enlisted into the U.S. Army (Infantry) on May 5, 1918, discharged on June 10, 1919.  

Porcher Mitchum, born May 7, 1896, Wayne County, Ga., and died April 29, 1948, Miami, Fl., single.  His father was Mitchum, Harvey Watson; Mother, Highsmith, Michal.  Porcher and his father, Harvey are buried in Smyrna Cemetery.

Gaynell H. Sasser order the stone on April 17, 2002, and was placed in February 2003 by Art Keene, her son..
