After the war, Washington Wayne Waters married Lavina Dora Ann Waldron b 9-22-1848.  She was the d/o Oliver Asbury Waldron + Chloe Howard.  He and Dora lived in the Taylortown area of Appling County , GA and had the following children while living there:

Dora died of typhoid fever in 1884 and was buried at the homestead, known as "The Shade Place ".  Washington, who was called "Major" by this time, married Sarah Jane Spell on 3-19-1885.  She was b 6-14-1862 and was the daughter of James M Spell + Sarah Jane Bagley.  Major and Sarah made their home in the Bickley community of Ware County and had the following children:

Major Waters died on February 1, 1917 and is buried at the Bagley Cemetery in Bickley.
