This is information from a personal notebook kept by the Superintendent. Information may be confusing and may not agree from line to line but it is typed as is. I added a few names which I knew instead of just the initial. This is a Georgia Power Hydro Plant located in Butts County on the Ocmulgee river, about 3-4 miles north of Highway 16. It is still in operation. Opposite side of Ocmulgee is Jasper County. The plant went into operation about 1911, maybe a little earlier as some of these men were hired as watchmen and different job titles. There were boarding houses built there which provided housing for the single and married men. This was way out from any place, about 10 miles to Jackson or Monticello, Ga. The boarding houses were later converted to residential and the employees who worked at the plant were given the opportunity to live in them.
