The Salzburgers were essentially Lutherans who had been
expelled from Germany because they followed the teachings of
Martin Luther
, and disavowed those of the Catholic Church in Rome.
Opinions being what they are, no opinion will be issued about Martin Luther
(the author herein is a devout Roman Catholic).
