10/18, March at 5.30 a.m. south, through Subligna to Gover's Gap (also called Mattox's), driving rebel cavalry most of the
way. Make twenty-two miles and encamp;

10/19, March at 6 a.m.

10/20, March at 6 a.m., Reach Gaylesville at noon, and go into camp one mile beyond the town. Entered into the State of
Alabama.
