A HAPPY MARRIAGE - Mr. Z.W. Betts, a prosperous Athens buisiness man, and Miss Leila Hudson, daughter of Mr. Tom Hudson, a prosperous Clarke county farmer, were yesterday happily united in marriage, at the residence of the brides's father, near Athens. May prosperity and much happiness attend those through life.

Miss Bessie Brightwell Cabaniss And William E. Hopkins, Jr., USN, Wed At Home Ceremony, December Twentieth

Dr. William Harvey Cabaniss announces the marriage of his daughter, Bessie Brightwell to William Edward Hopkins, Jr., Yeoman second class, USN on December 20, at 5:00.

The wedding was quietly solemized at home in the presences of the immediate families. Dr. Harvey C. Holland, pastor of the First Methodist church, performed the ceremony. Mrs. Noel Langdale, jr., sister of the bride, played the nuptial music.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a steel blue suit, with brown accessories. Her flowers were white orchids and narcissus.

Mrs. Hopkins is the third daughter of Dr. William Harvey Cabaniss and the late Bessie Brightell(sic). Her sisters are Mrs. John H.T. McPherson jr., and Mrs. Noel Langdale, jr., both of Athens. Her only brother is William Harvey Cabaniss, jr., now a student of the University of Georgia.

She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, and a member of Chi Omega Sorority.

The groom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. William Edward Hopkins, of Athens. He attended the University of Georgia, and was affilitated with the University of Georgia School of Aviation, prior to his enlistment in the Navy.

Following a short wedding trip the groom reported to Norfolk, Va., for overseas duty.

EPPS-GRAHAM

Married last night in Madison, GA in the presence of a number of friends of the popular couple, Miss Daisy Eppes of Madison, to Mr. Howard Graham, of Athens.

Both are well known here where they have hundreds of friends who are interested in the announcement of their marriage. Mr. Graham is a member of the force of the Smith Shoe Company, and he will after a brief wedding trip bring his charming bride to Athens to make their home here.

Mr. S.B. Wilkins to Wed Miss Harper

Announcement of Their Approaching Wedding in Kingstree, S.C. is Made.

The following announcement will be of interest to the large number of friends of Mr. S.B. Wilkins in this city and section.

"One of the coming events cast their shadows before" is the marriage of Miss Adelaide Harper, whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Wilkins, have announced her engagement to Mr. Samuel Bryan Wilkins of Athens, Ga.

Miss Adelaide, most of whose life has been spent in Kingstree, is quite a favorite in social circles, being possessed of many lovable traits of character enhanced by rare culture and refinement. She is an alumna of Winthrop college, having graduated with honors in the class of '08. She is at present principal of a school in Laurens county.

The expectant bridegroom is a brother of our townsman, Mr. W.T. Wilkins, and is a prominent business man of Athens" - County Record, (Kingstree, S.C.)

Mr. Wilkins is on e of the best known young business men in this city, having been prominently identified with the commercial world of this city for a number of years. He was a member of the wholesale grocery firm of Eppes-Wilkins Co., later he held a responsible position with the Georgia National Bank and for the last few years has been interest in Athens Coca Cola Bottling Works, which is one of the most prosperous business concerns in this section.

Mr. Wilkins has a host of friends who will extend their heartiest congratulations.

An Athens Wedding
A wedding in Athens in which ? social interst centers is that of Miss May Hodgson, the lovely young daughter of Mr. E.R. Hodgson and Mr. Frank Lipscomb, the eldest son of Mrs. M.A. Lipscomb.

The bride-elect combines the qualities of beauty and womanly charm which have made her the loved center of a large group of friends where she is known. She is the sister of Messrs. E.R. and Harry Hodgson, of Athens, and Dr. Frederick Hodgson, of Atlanta, and her sister is Mrs. Hugh Gordon, of Athens.

Mr. Lipscomb is one of the most prominent and popular young men in the state, who is successfully engaged in the insusurance business. His mother, Mrs. M.A. Lipscomb, is at present the leader of Georgia's representative women in organized effort, being the president of the Georgia Federation of Women's Clubs. She is distinguished in the literary and educational life of the south, and with her Mr. Lipscomb and his bride will make their home. Mr. Rutherford Lipscomb, of Atlanta, and Mrs. W.D. Ellis Jr., the brother and sister of the groom-elect, will attend the wedding - Atlanta Constitution.

A COMING MARRIAGE - cards will soon be out for the marriage of Miss Gussie Marks*, of Athens, to Mr. Chas. Joseph, of Chicago. The marriage will take place in the synagogue on Jackson Street on 29th of January.

*The next day a correction was printed stating that the bride-to-be was actually Miss Helen Marks.

On Saturday, May the twenty-ninth in Buford at high noon occurred the marriage of Miss Frances Lee Skelton and Mr. Frank Harris Lamkin. Only relatives and friends were present.
Mr. and Mrs. Lampkin will be at home after June the first in Asheville.
