Photo Restoration

Some pictures take more time to 'fix' than others. Sometimes, if they are not very damaged you can just run them through an auto-enhance option in a photo program like Photo Shop, Photo Impressions or Paint Shop Pro (my favorite). If it is a photo that has a lot of damage, or one that you are particularly interested in doing a good job on, restoring the photo can (will) be time consuming AND hard-drive consuming. It takes patience (lots of patience), a willingness to focus on details, and a willingness to use up a lot of your hard drive space.
