Carl Adams

Mr. Carl Adams, 88, of Nicholls, Ga., passed away Friday evening, March 5, 2004, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Ga., following an extended illness.
Mr. Adams, a native and lifelong resident of Coffee County, Ga., was the son of the late Love Adams and the late Della Harrell Adams. He was a retired mail carrier for the Coffee County School Systems and a member of Chatterton Grove Holiness Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Mildred Kirkland Adams of Nicholls, Ga.; one son, Wendell Adams of Dublin, Ga.; one daughter, Susan Adams Thurman of Pridgen, Ga.; one brother, Tom Adams of Douglas, Ga.; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 7, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Chatterton Grove Holiness Baptist Church, with Rev. Harold Barnes and Rev. Gene Chaney officiating.
Special musical __________. Interment followed in the Chatterton Grove Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Thomas Adams, Stanley Williams, Rocky Adams, Michael Stone, Bill Kirkland, and Arthur McCallum.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Kirkland, Jordan McCallum, Clint Walls, Jack Bush, Rev. Robbie McDearmid and Rev. Jimmy Hollis.
Ricketson Funeral Home of Douglas, Ga., was in charge of arrangements.
