Last rites were held Friday afternoon at Chatterton Grove church for Horace Adams who passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Jacksonville, March 24 at the age of 35.
A veteran of World War II, the deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Riley (Elizabeth Nipper) Adams, Nicholls, his wife, Mrs. Berthan Banks Adams, one son, Randy Adams, Jacksonville, two daughters, Virginia and Vickey Adams of Jacksonville; six brothers, Carey and Harvey Adams of Douglas, Paul Adams, Jacksonville, Amos Adams, U. S. Navy, and Jerry and Eugene Adams, Nicholls; five sisters, Mrs. Sarah Hunter, Mrs. Vera Compton, Jacksonville, Mrs. Lula Lee, Nicholls, Mrs. Virginia Merritt, Leesburg, Fla., and Mrs. Marie Norton, Center Hill, Fla..
The Rev. Henry Sears and Rev. Lee Walton were the officiating ministers and music was furnished by the Coffee County Quartette and Frank Carver Quartette.
Pallbearers were Charlton Adams, J. D. Adams, Mitchell Nipper, Glenn Gillis, William Smith.
Interment was in Chatterton cemetery with Sims Funeral Home in charge.
