Joseph Benjamin Baker passed away Sunday, December 24 in a New Orleans, La. hospital. A native Coffee Countian he had been ill for two months and was 51 years of age.
The deceased was a seaman and a veteran of World War II.
The Rev. Jeff Vickers officiated at the funeral services Wednesday afternoon, December 27, at Hebron church. Serving as pallbearers were John Allen Howard, Winston, Julian, Jim, Tom and Verlon Dorminey. Special music was sung by Carlos Grantham, Julian Sears, Tony and Lonnie Grantham accompanied by Miss Mary Lou Grantham.
Interment was in Hebron Cemetery and survivors are two sisters, Mrs. W. D. Wood, St. Simons Island, and Mrs. George McCranie, Willacoochee and several nieces and nephews.
Sims Funeral Home of Douglas was in charge of arrangements.
