Mrs. Eula Bishop, age 69, passed away Friday afternoon August 25, 1978. Mrs. Bishop died instantly from injuries received in an auto accident, which occurred near Fitzgerald.
Born September 5, 1908 in Coffee County, Mrs. Bishop was the daughter of the late Johnny and Sallie Gertrude Smith Harper. She was a retired grocery store merchant and member of the Bushnell Chapel Church. Mrs. Bishop was a resident of 614-A Phillips St., Douglas.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, August 27th at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Sims Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Davis Jr., pastor of Bushnell Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment followed in the Salem Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Jewell Knight, organist, accompanied singers Mr. and Mrs. Leon F. "Mann" Kirkland and Mrs. Patsy Spivey as they rendered special singing.
Pallbearers were Robert Harper, Cecil McKinnon, Donnie Lott, Steve Johnson, Wayne Walker, Lester Walker Jr., and Michael Johnson.
Mrs. Bishop is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Agnes Davis, Fitzgerald; Mrs. Alice Marie Johnson, Steinhatchee, Fla.; Mrs. Doris Johnson, Elleville; Mrs. Wilma "Lolly" Walker, Perry; three sisters: Mrs. Ethel Mae Ivey, Palatka, Fla.; Mrs. Mary McKinnon. Douglas; Mrs. Wilma Jean Lott, Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers: Quincey Harper, Douglas; Willis Harper, Ambrose; 8 grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
Sims Funeral Home of Douglas was in charge.
