Edna Royal Brantley, 77, of Valdosta passed
away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, in the Presbyterian Home
in Quitman after a brief illness.
She was born on June
20, 1927, to the late William C. and Mary Etta Royal
in Coffee County and had lived in Valdosta most of her
life. She was a member of the Azalea City Church of
God and a life member of Disabled American Veterans.
Her husband, J.C. Brantley, and brother, Charles E.
Royal, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Dianne
and Jeff Stokes, Valdosta; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Billy E. and Joy Brantley, Lake
Park, Kenny Joe and Diane Brantley, Columbus, Ga.; 10
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three
brothers, Robert C. (Bob) Royal, Cleveland, Ohio,
William Oscar “Bill” Royal Morgantown, Ky., John E.
(J.E.) Royal, Green Castle, Pa.; three sisters, Doris
Stewart, Wrens, Ga., Wilma Hulsey, Douglas, Joyce
Brown, Moultrie; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov.
12, 2004, in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral
Services with the Rev. Raymond Gabbard and the Rev.
Keith Lairsey officiating. Burial will follow in
Riverview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin
today, Nov. 11, 2004, after 5 p.m. with family
receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
Presbyterian Home in Quitman at P.O. Drawer 909,
Quitman GA 31643.
