Mrs. Leola Brown passed away late Friday night, March 16, 1973 at the Coffee General Hospital following an extended illness.
Born January 1, 1894 in Johnson County, Ga., Mrs. Brown was the wife of the late Thomas Hardy Brown. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Mehtodist Church and resided in Augusta, GA formerly of Ambrose, GA.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 19, 1973 at 2.00 p. m. at the New Hope Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert McDearmid, Pastor of New Hope Baptist, and the Rev. M. R. Jowers will jointly officiate. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Paul Stover will provide the organ music and Paul Hutcheson, Carlos Grantham, Rev. Paul Stover and Billy Baker will provide the singing for the services.
Active pallbearers will be Billy Dees, Billy Ray Vickers, Oliver Smith, Jr. Howard Smith, Jerry Davis, and Comer Ragsdale.
Mrs. Brown is survived by one son: H. W. Brown, Augusta, Ga.; one daughter: Miss Mable Brown, Augusta, GA; two sisters: Mrs. M. E. Long, Waycross, GA; Mrs. T. D. Ferguson, Carrolton, GA; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
