Last Rites for Prentiss Burkett
Rev. Byron C. Ates conducted funeral services at the Burkett Church on Friday for Prentiss Burkett, 41, who died Wednesday, April 15, at the Douglas Hospital after an illness of several days.
Surviving him are his wife and two sons, Wayne and Wyatt of West Green; one brother, Silas Burkett, Miami; five sisters: Mrs. Mattie Herring and Mrs. Arlie Burkett, West Green, Mrs. Maggie McLear, Miami, Mrs. Abbie Adams, Ellington, Mrs. Ada Wilcox, Nicholls.
His nephews acted as pallbearers and Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Interment at Burkett Cemetery.
