THOMAS BRYD DIED THURSDAY MORNING

Another pioneer citizen of Coffee County passed away early Thursday morning at 5 o'clock when the spirit of Thos. Bryd took its flight.
He died at his home several miles north of Broxton where he has lived practically all his life. The direct cause of his death was due to a paralytic stroke which came to him last Sunday night. Since that time he has been in critical condition and remained so until the end.
Mr. Bryd was 64 years of age, the son of the late Wiley Bryd, Sr. His mother was Mrs. Eliza Wilcox.
The deceased leaves the following brothers and sisters: Wiley Bryd Jr., Thorpe Bryd, Leonard Bryd, Sherod Bryd, Robert Bryd, and Mrs. Dan Lott Jr., and Mrs. John Paulk. He was also the brother of the late Aaron Bryd, and John Bryd.
The following children survive: Mrs. C. C. Atkinson, Mrs. G. C. Weitman, Mr. T. J. Bryd, Mr. Hinton Bryd and Mr. Roy Bryd.
Mr. Bryd married a daughter of the late Arthur Lott, and several children have been born to this wedlock. Mrs. Bryd died about two years ago.
The funeral services will be held Friday morning and the burial will take place at the family cemetery near his home directly afterwards.
The deceased has large connections as well as hundreds of friends in the county, and a large number will be present at the funeral and burial services.
Mr. Bryd's health had been good up to about seven years ago when he had a serious attack. He practically gave up all hope of living long and so told his family and neighbors. He went ahead and divided up his property amongst his children, and made ready for the last call. However he got some better, while his health never was good again.
He was a man of considerable property, one of the large land owners of the northern part of the county, and was always very conservative in his dealings which resulted in leaving a very large estate.
