Funeral Services for Mr. Charlie L. Carver, 71, who died January 3, were held January 5, 1978 at St. Illa Baptist Church with the Rev. Foy Davis, Jr. and the Rev. Huey Nicholls officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
A native of Coffee County, he was the son of the late Charley and Amanda Stevens Carver. A retired farmer, he died following an extended illness.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Annie Carver Carver of Rte. 2 , Douglas; four daughters, Mrs. Geneva McDonald, Jonesboro, Mrs. Betty Jean Simmons, Douglas, Mrs. Helen Burman, Marianna , FL, and Mrs. Hazel Fountain , Douglas, two sons , Orville Carver, Douglas, and Odis Carver, Douglas; three sisters Mrs. Mary Nipper, Douglas, Mrs. Frances Whitley, Douglas and Mrs. Caroline Sapp, Ft. Pierce, FL; one brother Jesse E. Carver Hilliard, FL; four half-sisters, Mrs. Lucy Joiner, Ambrose, Mrs Selma Smith, Hazelhurst, Mrs.Becky Metts, Pearson, and Mrs, Carnell Wright , Jacksonville , FL; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Music was provided by the Soles Family.
Active pallbearers were David McDonald, Linton McDonald, Bobby Carver, Johnny Carver, Vernon Whitley, Alton Carver, Aulton Carver, and Raymond Carver.
Sims Funeral Home was in charge.
