Jessie E. Carver 86, died Monday, February 5, 1990, at his residence in Hilliard, FL, after a
lengthly illness.
He was a native of Douglas, Coffee County, Georgia, but had lived in Hilliard for the last 32 years. He was the son of the late Charley Carver and the late Amanda Stevens Carver Merritt. He was a member of St. Illa Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and carpenter.
Survivor include his wife Mary M. Carver, three sons Johnny Carver, Hawthorne, FL, Bobby Carver, Hilliard, FL, Raymond Carver, Callahan, FL; five daughters Janie I. Nelson, Evelyn C. Guynn, Catherine Carver, Connie J. Carver all of Hilliard, and Bonnie C. Cooper, Folkston, GA; four sisters Caroline Carver Sapp, Fort Pierce, FL, Lucy Merritt Joiner, Ambrose, GA, Becky Merritt Metts, Pearson, GA, and Carnell Merritt Wright, Jacksonville, Fl; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 1:00 p.m. February 8, 1990 at St. Illa Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
The Rev. William Bowman officiating. Special Music was provided by the Soles family and a taped song of "Daddy's Hands".
Pallbearers were Randy Guynn, Shelton Guynn, Tommy Nelson, Robert Carver, Donald Carver, all of Hilliard, and Ray Carver of Callahan, Fl.
Adkins-Shepard Funeral Home of Folkston, GA was in charge of funeral arrangements.
