Mrs. Carver, 79, Dies Following Short Illness
Mrs. Mary Tanner Adams Carver, 79 year-old Douglas resident, died at the Coffee General Hospital Saturday, April 27, following a short illness.
Daughter of the late John Wesley and Hester Ward Tanner, she was a native of Coffee County.
Funeral services were at held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Monday, April 29, with Elders Leo A. Larson, Ned Larson, and Bryan Larson officiating.
Interment followed in the city cemetery.
Survivors are 1 daughter: Mrs. Inez Adams Hulett, Valdosta; 3 sons: Mose Adams, Waycross; Hoke Adams, Douglas; J. C. "Pete" Adams, Douglas; 3 half-brothers: Leon Tanner, Pearson; Lewel [Dodger] Tanner, Pearson; Henry Tanner, Pearson; 2 half-sisters: Mrs. Bertie Carver, Haines City, Fla.; Mrs. Margaret Jordan, Plant City, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
Active pallbearers: Raymond Moore, Laverne Cardwell, Clifford Adams, John W. Adams, J. W. Fender, James Deen. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
