Another Coffee county pioneer passed to his reward last Monday night when Mr. James Jefferson Carver, better known as "Pink", died at his home between Ambrose and Broxton. He was 84 years old and old age infirmities was the cause of his death.
The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon and the burial at Carver Church cemetery.
A large crowd of relatives and friends were present to pay their last respects. The funeral was directed by Rev. Buchan, the pastor of Carver church where Mr. Carver was a member.
The deceased is survived by eleven children besides a host of relatives in this section.
He was known far and wide as a straight forward living man, had farmed most of his life, and made the community in which he lived a good neighbor and friend. He will be missed by his hundreds of friends for his many acts of kindness. Peace to his ashes.
