News reached the city this morning of the death of Mrs. J. W. Clements who died at her home in Alamo on Wednesday night at 8 o'clock following a long illness.
She was preceded by her husband's death about five years ago.
The funeral services will take place in Douglas at 10 o'clock Friday morning being conducted by Rev. T. B. Stanford of the Methodist Church of which she was a member.
The deceased is survived by the following children all of whom are well known in this city and section: Mrs. F. W. Dart, of Sarasota, Fla., Mrs. John R. Slater, of Douglas, Mrs. Truett Nelson, of Alamo, Mrs. Geo. A. Tanner, of Plant City, Fla., and Mr. Paul Clements, of Savannah. The late Mrs. W. W. Terrell, of this city, was the eldest daughter.
Mrs. Clements was well known to Douglas people having visited here on a number of occasions to see her daughters who were residents of this city.
She remained for some time with Mrs. Slater, of this city, during her illness but left about a year ago for her home in Alamo.
Truly, it may be said of the deceased that she was a devoted mother, and the standing of the large family circle in evidence of her splendid training.
