Mrs. Mary Ann Cox

Mrs. Mary Ann Cox, age 90, of Shore Street, Douglas, Georgia, passed away Monday, December 5, 1994, at Coffee Regional Hospital in Douglas following an extended illness. Mrs. Cox, a native of Atkinson County, Georgia was born May 27, 1904, the daughter of the late Rowan and Matilda Roach Floyd. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Douglas. Mrs. Cox was the widow of the late George W. Cox, Jr.
Survivors include: 4 daughters, Mrs. Ruth Youngblood and Mrs. Gliness Harper, both of Douglas, Georgia, Mrs. Matilda Vann of Fitzgerald, Georgia and Mary Kathryn Foskey of Warner Robins, Georgia, 3 sons, Johnny Cox of Kingsland, Georgia, R.J. Cox and David Cox, both of Douglas, Georgia, 1 brother, Rubin Perry Floyd of Hazlehurst, Georgia; 30 grand children; numerous great grand children and great great grand children; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11:00AM Wednesday, December 7, 1994, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Douglas with Jerry Waldron, Dewayne Foskey and Joe Cox officiating. The eulogy was presented by Tracy Francisco, Special music was provided by Lera Roberts, Lois Mills and Lou Ray, with Lois Mills accompanying at the organ. Interment followed at the Cumorah Cemetery. Active pallbearers were David D. Cox, John Cox, Joe Cox, Tony Foskey, Andy Foskey, and Scott Foskey.
Sims Funeral Home of Douglas was in charge of the arrangements.
