A very sad death occurred at the Waycross hospital last Thursday afternoon when Mrs. Tom Dent passed away after a very short illness.
It was discovered that she had some kidney complaint, and sent to the hospital at Waycross where she could get special treatment.
The funeral occurred at her home in this city on Friday, the services being conducted by Rev. Johnson. The Baptist choir furnished the music. There were many beautiful floral offerings.
Mrs. Dent is survived by her husband, three children, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brantley Davis, of Nicholls, and several brothers and sisters. Two of her children are twins about three months old.
The death was extremely sad because of the circumstances surrounding. She came to this city as a bride only a very short time ago, and just in the beginning of making a home for herself and little family, she was taken ill.
Her death saddened the many friends in this city where she had made during her short residence here, and her husband has the sympathy of everybody in this hour of his great bereavement.
The Douglas Undertaking Co. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
The active pall bearers were Rema Sapp, Dr. Turrentine, Clyde Jardine, Charles Heath, Raymond Vickers, Doc Lott, Elkin Minchew and Will Dickerson.
