Mr. John Denton, a well known citizen of Coffee county died at his home near Perkin, last Monday and was buried at Bryd's grave yard the next day.
Mr. Denton was about 65 years of age. He leaves a wife and one child, Mrs. A. S. Minchew.
Hon. J. M. Denton of this city, and Hon. Wm. Denton, of Ware county, are his brothers.
His wife was Miss Fannie Wilcox, daughter of old uncle Mark Wilcox. His mother was Priscilla Ward, sister of Warren W. Ward and is buried at the old Ward-Kirkland grave yard.
John Denton was a good quiet man, a consistent member of the Baptist church, and will be greatly missed by his many relatives and friends.
He had been in falling health for many years and was ready and waiting to go when the Master came and called for him.
