MRS. J. M. DENTON BURIED LONE HILL
PIONEER, 70, BELONGING TO ONE OF COFFEE'S OLDEST FAMILIES DIES FRIDAY MORNING

Another pioneer of Coffee county passed away last Friday morning at 3:30 o'clock when Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Denton died at her home in Denton, after an illness of over a year, suffering from cancer. She would have been 70 years old on the 22nd of this month.
The deceased lived and died in practically the same location for over a quarter of a century, with the exception of about two years in Douglas, just after her second marriage to Col. J. M. Denton, about 25 years ago.
Her first husband was the late Dan Peterson.
Besides hundreds of friends and relatives, the deceased leaves her husband, Col. Denton, and the following children: John H., of Douglas; T. J. Peterson, of Mobile, Ala., Mrs. A. P. Smith, of Robertsdale, Ala., Lem Sr., of Douglas, Mrs. Mary McRae, of New Orleans; Mrs. Martha Durden, of Denton; and Mrs. Marguerite Bowers, of Denton, the last being a child of the second marriage. One dead, Mac Peterson, fourth child.
The remains were buried at Lone Hill cemetery on Sunday morning, where a large body of friends gathered to pay their last respects. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. W. C. Bryant, of West Green.
The deceased was a member of the Methodist church and had lived a christian life for many years. Up until a year ago she enjoyed splendid health.
The Enterprise extends genuine sympathy to the husband and children in their saddest hour.
