Johnnie Batten, 10 years of age, son of Elias Batten, died last Tuesday night, at the Cowart House, of blood poisoning after suffering a great deal. One side of his face and one eye were almost entirely destroyed. Buried Wednesday. This makes two bereavements for that family within thirty days.
