Mr. Lester Leon Cole
Age 70, of Rt. 1, Nicholls, died suddenly early Sunday morning at his residence.
He was a native of Bacon County and was the son of the late Elder Lester Cole and Frances Meeks Cole.
He was a farmer and was retire from Hazelhurst Mills after 15 years of employment.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Edith Jordan Cole of Rt. 1, Nicholls; three sons, Johnny Cole of Jacksonville, Fla., Jimmy Cole of Alma, and Royce Cole of White Sands, New Mexico, serving in the U.S. Air Force; four grandchildren, Jamey, Amy and Tammy Cole all of Alma, and Gregory Cole of White Sands, New Mexico.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, at 5 p.m. from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Alvin Johnson and Rev. Lamar Burkett officiating. Interment followed in Roberts Cemetery in Nicholls.
Active pallbearers were: Roy Meeks, Charles Carter, Corman Jordan, Verlon Carter, Ronald Callahan, and Willis Jordan. All those attending were considered honorary escorts.
Crosby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
