Welcome to Crawford County Georgia Genealogy and History
site. Crawford was formed December 9, 1822 county seat Knoxville.
I am Margie Daniels and my family once lived in Crawford County.
They were part of the luck drawers in the Georgia land lottery and like
a lot of people they moved from Putnam County to Crawford. Many of
these settlers can also be found in old Granville County NC. Col.
Benjamin Hawkins and his father lived in the Granville/Warren/Vance/Bute
counties prior to migrating to the Crawford, Bibb, Macon neck of the
woods. With so many researchers adding records everyday we
will try to include links to sites that will help you in your research.
The Indian Agency Reserve is on the banks of the Flint River and the
Creek habitation area along the Flint River. Benjamin Hawkins, an Indian
agent from 1794 to 1816, is buried on this site.
